I was asked to make a cutting board for a friend’s Christmas gift to his wife. She is an avid quilter and the friend asked that I make a board which looks like a quilt. This is the result. It took more steps to get the “quilt blocks” into the glue-up. If you’ve made end grain boards (the only way to go, in my opinion) you will figure it out. Quilt blocks are walnut and cherry. All else is maple, despite color variations. I am almost out of maple and could not match the color any closer.

Nice board, she should love it. I too prefer only making End Grain boards for people….

Really nice job. End grain boards are definitely better for use.
