Butter Press

This butter press was a project that I made for my uncle who is an avid antiques collector and in his spare time speaks to elementary school students about how things were done in the “olden days.” He likes to provide a hands-on experience for the students, but the butter press that he was using (last photo) was starting to show its age so I made him a close replica to pass around to the students.

The interesting part of this project is that years ago he had given me an old wooden wall phone that was not in good enough condition to refinish, so I made the butter press out of its parts – just seemed to be the right thing to do.

It was a really fun project. Thanks for the inspiration Uncle Bill
