I had a strip of Cypress that had the bark still on it from a previous project, at the time i didn’t know why i kept it. then yesterday it hit me, it would make a pretty cool picture frame.

My wife had bought a cheap frame (second to last pic) at walmart just so she could put this picture in it. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try to make a frame (never done it before).

I decided to make the frame so that the cheap frame would sit inside it (last pic) so that i could utilize the stand, and also so that if she had something she wanted to put in it that she didnt want to have the rustic look to she could still have the black frame. all in all it came out pretty good for my first frame, i am very pleased with it.

Thanks for looking and as always, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Nice frame – excellent for your first one.
