Used a template to to make the design then used a bandsaw to cut out the shape. Then I took the shape to the spindal sander to sand all the edges to make it even. Then to make the lid u have to take the outside trace of the template cut it with the band saw and sand it down for a Oval shape. Then u must trace the inside of the plate on another piece of stock then go to the band saw cut it out then belt sand it to Oval shape. Then glue the dinner piece to the outter piece and make sure Its centered then glue it and clamp it.Then while thats drying u can make a handle of any design you would like to . After that flue the handle to the top of the Box but make sure Its centered. Once all pieces are assembled you can just polyurathane it or you can stain it with two or three coats then poly it with two or three coats

Nice box.
Is the bottom gray?

Nice box. Really like the contrast between the lid and bottom.

-- Tom Finnigan - Measures? We don't need no stinking measures! - Hmm, maybe thats why my project pieces don't fit.

Have your say...
