Wifey was getting a bit impatient with me for not completing (ok, starting) a book shelf for the girls room. Apparently I’ve been promising one for over 8 months…uh oh.

So I finally decided to do something about it. Unfortunately I am both time and money poor right now, so I decided to put together one of Steve Ramsey’s bookcase design which I think looks really nice.

It’s pretty much the same as his design, except made from cheaper MDF, a bit wider to fit into the room better, and the shelves are taller to fit more books. It was a fun project to put together, by the end of the first day it was assembled, then painted on the second.

I’ve got a bit more about it on my website here → http://bit.ly/175iLDF

It absolutely does look great. I hope you have some sort of attachment to the wall up top.

Thanks guys. No attachment to the wall as yet, but that is planned to be done this weekend. Bolts through the bottom and a metal strap screwed into the stud in the wall is the plan.

I hope my wife doesn’t see this, that would just be one more thing for the “Honey-do” list…

Nice build, it fits in really good and looks to hold a lot of stuff. Most importantly, your client looks happy!

Just love this!!
There’s so many cobby holes to put her stuff in.
And that purple really helps show it off.
