Probably barely qualifies as being made of wood but the frame is 1×4 held together with pocket screws from the kreg jig. Then I stretched blackout cloth over top and stapled its to the backside, finished with a black velvet strip to soak up and light at the edges. Screen is 108” diagonally.

Great idea.

Any problems with keeping the cloth tight to abstain from unwanted wrinkles?

No problems a year later its still perfect.
