My first wooden truck! What made me make this truck was a few years ago I picked wood out of a friend of mine’s chicken house. About five pickup truck loads! Among some of the boxes of small stuff were some turned toy wheels and duelies. Well, a couple of weeks ago I got a wild hair, and grabbed a block of pine off the shelf and started scketching a truck out. I cut out the main body with the band saw, used the scroll saw for the more delicate parts, and sanded, cut, fit, & painted the finished product you see here. No plan, just from memory of what I wanted it to look like, and painted my business name on the side. I just needed to use the wheels up, I’ve got six sets to use up, so I am going to make six more trucks.

Neat idea.

I also like to make the more vintage style toys. Happily share some of my (sort-of) patterns.

I also made a smaller version of the “TaNader” that is my avator. That one is almost 7 feet long!

Love the truck!

Made me look up you other projects, I like the rustic/reuse concepts behind your projects!

That’s one beautiful truck, like the vintage appeal and pretty colors. A great ad for your business. Well done!

Yes, I collect up this wood, and when the mood strikes, I come up with something I thought I never could do. I hate to waste any of my wood scraps, if a scrap piece is still useable, I’ll set it aside in a “wooden” box for later projects. It took a lot of work to tear the barns down and pick them so I use every piece and try to use as much of a board as I can. I got six more sets of wheels so watch for more. I have no lathe). Thanks for the comments all!!
