Hope all is well in Lumberjocks world.
A few weekends ago Robert was nice enough to give Laura and I a whole lot of wood. I found this piece of walnut in the wood and seen a Alien in it so instead of cutting it up I framed it will Maple and made a cutting board with it. If you look close you can see his head eyes neck and shoulders. The board is inlaid in the Maple. So the boarder will keep moisture on the board. First time I made a CB this way but I could not cut up a picture.
Thanks Dennis

Good eye, Dennis. That will teach me to plane the wood before I give it to you!! The Spalted Maple made a good frame for the Walnut.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and so little time!

That looks like my last chest x-ray. Just kidding! Seriously, I agree that it should not have been cut up. I also think the spalted maple works very well with the walnut. Nice.

Maybe a fossil of an alien that wound up in the walnut tree. Nice use of the unique grain.

I agree with the fossilized alien theory. He came here millions of years ago and got stuck! You’ve got a great eye!

Cutting board! You need to hang in on a wall and call it art!
