Here is my latest project. It’s called a Quilted bowl but more like an Indian basket. Got a idea from a book written by Malcolm Tibbetts. Bowl has 811 pieces and is made from Yellow Heart, Purple Heart, Bloodwood, Maple, Peruvian Walnut, and Ebony. Bowl is approx. 8 in. in Dia and 7in. high.

Very nice, great contrasting colors.
I have the same book from Malcolm Tibbetts and his videos. Great information from a wonderful and talented turner.
John, where do you get your ebony? Beautiful wood but so expensive.
Thanks for posting.

Absolutely beautiful!!!! Very nice work, choice of colors and applying the mechanics of segmented wood turning. I have always believed that segmented turners are from another “place”, don’t know where but out of this world.
