Left over wood made into a christmas gift. Knife block is sized for three damascus steel knives while trying to preserve countertop space. Primarily made of walnut, and thin strip of ash in the middle. The base is primarily cherry, and the sides of the base were scraps from a cutting board that i incorporated into this design (ash walnut, and cherry). Treated with a coat of food safe mineral oil. Concept came after seeing a knife block fellow LJ, Derek Cohen, produced.

That is a very nice design and a great build too. It would look great in any kitchen and whoever gets it for a gift will love it. I really like how you did this.

Thanks for the comments. Fun project that I thought turned out ok considering I used mostly scraps.
