Oak Baby Crib

This crib was built for our second grandchild, a boy. The plans were taken from an original creation by fellow Lumberjock, Jeff Wenz. This is the second “Wenzer” I have built.

The material used is oak given to me by a local sawmill as a gift, so the only costs involved was a bit of hardware and the mattress frame. With Jeff’s great plans, this bed transitions into a toddler bed or full-size bed.

I have built many projects, but this is one of the most rewarding and time consuming to date. From start to finish was about six weeks.

For good measure, the last photo shows the changing table we built. It used basic dresser construction techniques and was completed in a weekend.

Beautiful! Proud of you, bro.

Wow…never seen this design before. Really caught my eye on the project page – had to comment.

The arched top is awesome. The thickness of the front and side rails makes it look handmade.

Nice project, both of you!
