My friend had asked me to make a new frame for a needlepoint piece that was given to him on his wedding day some 25 years ago – the old one fell and broke. This is what I came up with…my design. The tiles are NOT my design, just filler for sake of the pic, a photoshop composite. However I do LOVE these tiles, and how lovely those tiles and my piece go together :) The tiles can be found here.

Of course, all QSWO, with my secret sauce mission finish.

I like the frame. I think the angled top and arched sides go well together. I have never seen that particular layout in a frame design, so I think you came up with a good one. Did you use half-laps for the upper joints?

No, the vertical is completely inlaid into the horizontal up top. It’s fine for this application.

I like the contrasts of colors
The needle point is pretty unusual.

quicksilver In the photo, those are tiles, not needlepoint. I photohopped in something instead of a bare wall. The real use will be for needlepoint, however…

It is hard to beat a mission style frame and art tiles IMO. The grain and finish are outstanding. Well done!

I think I’d like to make one with those tiles.
It looks very nice.
