I wanted to post a project I did as a retirement gift for your Maintenance Master Chief who retired this past week after 30 years of service. I used the EA-6B tail shadow box if found on here as my inspiration and guide. The main panel is 3/4 Oak Plywood the trim is solid Oak. The Rudder sections is make out of Mahogany framed with Oak and with Cherry around that. The based is one wide piece of Oak that I cut to outline the flight deck of Carrier.

That’s a great looking retirement gift! Nice to see the old Prowler getting some love! I’m sure he will really appreciate it!

Very nicely done. Having helped build a number of EA-6B’s I have a soft spot for this project.

Great job, you put a lot of thought in the details. I am sure it was a hit at the retirement.

Cool and well designed piece! The wood combo looks great as well as the finish. I’m sure it will be much appreciated. Great work!
