I built this coffee table earlier this year. I donated it to a local fund raising benifit. I cut the tree down about five years ago on my parents property and skidded it out of the woods on a kids sled. When we put it on the sawmill and opened it up I was very happy to see the grain pattern. As you see it in the pictures there is no finish on it. It was sanded and polished to 4000 grit paper. I later applied paste wax to it. I had a lot of fun building this table. It was my first project from a log I cut to a finished project.

Marvelous table! Looks really sturdy. Like the gorgeous grain patterns and the natural edge. Great job!
