This is my first project I am posting on lumberjocks, comments and critiques welcome.
With my first child on the way (due Dec 29) we decided we needed a changing table for the baby. After shopping around and failing to find a changing table that didn’t have tons of reviews calling the product ‘cheap’ or ‘flimsy’ I decided that it was well worth the money (and time) to build my own table. I found a plan on Anna White’s site and used it as a base for my table. It is made from poplar with birch ply for the lower shelves. It is finished with Rustoleum traditional cherry stain and a couple coats of poly. We were trying to match the color of the crib. I settled on this color and it ended up being closer than I expected. Sorry I couldn’t get a picture before my nesting wife started filling it up :)

Very nice job!

A few months ago I was in the same boat. Needed a changing table but didn’t want to buy the over priced flimsy ones on the market. Got one built in 3 days. It looks and works great! Only problem is we use the floor in the living room more than anything for changes lol.

From one new parent to another… I would say sleep now but it won’t make a difference lol. You would be better off just getting used to not sleeping now than later :D

Great looking changing table! Like the open shelves and the finish. Great job and congrats on the first baby!
