I needed a few new sconces at the top of my stairs so decided to make my own. These are made with jatoba, birdseye maple (both from cutoffs) and some galvanized gas pipe that I sprayed metallic brown. Finished it off with a few edison style light bulbs. I think they look good in the house but a little disappointed in the brightness of the bulbs. The 60w are duller than the previous reg 60w bulbs. Kind of designed this around the cool bulbs so I guess I’m stuck. Not a huge deal I guess.

Ross – I like it. If I had a ‘man cave’, I’d steal your design for sure.

Steampunk! You should see the amps I build. I like Steampunk but stay well clear of cogs that do nothing and look naff…Your lamps would fit right into my place perfectly. I’m impressed enough to try a couple myself.

These are really neat. I can see a few places around my house that could use a few of these.
