It sets on a Table or Mantle. It flows and bends in a Smooth Graceful Flow. It is very calming to be around for me. My designs are all unique and spontaneous. I love to flow with the Will of the Wood. I don’t do many abstracts but I really enjoy carving them. This piece is carved out of a beautiful piece of Quilted Maple Wood. It is an awesome piece of wood. It’s all shimmery and glowing. The light really plays with the flowing curves.

This is a link to this piece in my etsy shop:

It measures in at 9 5/8’ tall x 10 1/2 wide” x 2 5/8” deep.

It stands up and would go on any shelf or table top. It does not hang on the wall.

It’s very smooth and has a great feel to it. The Enamel finish really sets off the grain colors and all of the sculpted lines.

I call this piece “Aspiration”. It feels like it aspires to reach the Heavens. Reaching to further dimensions of Love and Peace. Eternally Evolving.

You truly are a “Wiz” at carving…and finishing. The name “Manta” as in manta ray comes to mind at first glance.
Very beutiful! I love the quilted look but sadly it does not bend well in tight circles for my rings no matter what wood I use.

Very nice.

Note to self. “Sneak over to Gary’s place and steal all his wood while he is sleeping.” That is beautiful Wiz. That would be one worthwhile sculpture to display the Queen’s jewels on.

Ha Ha, Terry

I’ll bet I have some scraps that you could use. Do you use quilted and curly maple?
