The school my wife works at is having their Octoberfest and is looking for donations to sell and raffle off. She volunteered me and I was honored. I wanted a good reason to use some spalted logs I had and this was it.
The largest bowl is 9’’ x 4’’ then 8 1/2’’ x 4’’, 2@ 6 1/2’’ x 3’’. The canister is 7’’ x 5’’. All finished with G. F. salad bowl finish. In picture 2 the top 3 are maple, bottom left is cottonwood, bottom right I’m not sure.

Funny thing about the whole deal is my wife really likes these. Maybe cause there not going to be in the house. LOL
Hope they find a good home. I should probably start signing my work.

Outstanding collection of turnings. I hope that they fetch enough money at the auction to add a new wing to the school. And you should start signing your work wouldn’t hurt to include the year made and maybe your phone number, so the orders can come in :-)

Well crafted, and excellent selection of grain patterns!

A very nice batch of turned items Dave and yes sign your projects. My wife is a potter and she learned very early in selling her pots and vases, unsigned pottery does not sell or if it does you don’t get the price you wanted.
Beautiful spalted wood by the way…:)

Thanks Jim. My wife made the comment about buying them back, I said I couldn’t afford it. LOL

Joe, it would make me happy if someone else likes it as much.

Dave,
I think you should sign your work. I have an electric iron that my son in law bought for me as a gift. I sing everything now. It a good feeling to have your name on your work and it’s good to know your work has a way to be identified.
You can get one at Rockler.com

oh…ah! Are you going to buy it back for her? :)

Edit.. search “Iron” and you will see more choices.

Thanks Hoss. My daughter wants me to make her a electric chair like yours,——another project.

Tony, I have an electric one ( D & M WOODY”S ) from 30 years ago when I made small wooden toys for extra money. Still works fine only too big to work on most of the turning projects. So its either hand write it on or get a small round elec one. Still thinking about it.
