So this is a project I did for my buddy down at campbell, he is the same age as me, should be retired like me but he’s not. So he decided to go to Air Assault school, needless to say I am pretty proud of him so I wanted to make him something to commerate that achievement.

I used a two inch piece of oak and a scroll saw, it took me forever…LOL, hope he likes it.

very nice work. I was in the 101st when it was still called Airborne. where did you find the pattern for this because I would like to make one to hang in my shop?

A screaming eagle patch would make an interesting project. I did basic in the 101st at Ft. Jackson in 1954. It was still called airborne but had no airborne tab over the patch. I went from basic to the 82nd.

Interestingly the screaming eagle patch has not always been identical to the current one, you can google it for more info on the different versions.

I too was Air assault, I loved it, just didn’t love walking every where…LOL
