I like to find ways to turn my wood scraps into usable items. This is Jake DeLuca’s Christmas present, a box of blocks. It is about 11 1/2 inches square and 13 inches deep and is made with a variety of wood species. Each time I build a new one, I give clues on how to get all the blocks back in the box (dad’d job).

So they all fit neatly in the box. Quite a challenge.
Years ago I made a huge set of Lincoln logs for my 2 nephews that fit loosely in a 30 gallon garbage can.

Great looking gift.

I have a bunch of those out in my shop in a blue colored plastic tub, kids take them out to play with and I use a dust pan to put them all back end when they move on to the next adventure. You are very much more organized than me

Thanks to all for the comments. You know the saying that refers to shoppers, “when purchasing a gift, one tends to buy something that the buyer would like to receive”. We’ll this also applies to woodworkers like us. If you didn’t see the one I made for my nephews, Parker and Landon, you might like to see it in my project category.

That’s a unique and fun gift idea. Those joints look great. Creative use of scraps and great job!
