This was made as the customer requested, with no headboard. It is a king size bed frame. Made of beetle kill pine. The box spring will be hidden by the side panels. It is 20 inches tall.

They have a store bought headboard they will put with it. In my mind, I will be making a headboard eventually for it. I haven’t seen their headboard, but I can’t see finding store bought to match live edge. Time will tell.

Thanks for looking

I agree Monte…they will definitely need a “Monte Headboard” to make this set look complete…Very nice…!

great looking bed Monte. I noticed the bark, the pine I’ve sawed here in Bama the bark loosens and falls off very easily. Your slabs with bark gives even more of a rustic look.

Note on the bark.

I drag claw hammer over the bark. Anything remotely loose is removed. Everything else gets multiple coats of finish. It very firm.

Nice frame! What’d you use for the corner hardware?

Nice bed! Definitely needs your headboard. I say… make a headboard they can’t resist and send them a photo.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

You did a great job on this and I think they are making a mistake by putting their own headboard on it. That is some beautiful wood and grain too.

Do projects like this impress the “supervisor” that’s lounging on top of the table? LOL

Love that beetle pine. I agree with others, they should just get the matching headboard now.

Great looking bed Monte! I really like the rustic look – but like everyone else, I can’t imagine a headboard that doesn’t match the rest of the bed. The matching headboard would really make this piece pop even more.
