A while ago a wooden vise built with wood threaded spindles. The thread can I make with my custom build wooden wood lathe. Woods are walnut for de vise and beech for the spindles.
The vise is built with a wooden “St Peter Cross” that works great.

Extremely cool and well made! Very impressive that you cut your wood threads on your custom built lathe (see tuoh’s lathe here http://lumberjocks.com/projects/65018 ). Great job!

Ah- looked at your blog and found answers. I am truly amazed by that lathe. I am originally a toolmaker by trade and have spent weeks behind a metal lathe. But one made of wood – that even does balls, thread and spirals… Wow!
