This small bowl was made out of spalted oak and measures 7 1/4 inches square with a 4 1/2 inch bowl. It is about 1 3/4 inch high. I have a number of roughsawn 2 X 8s that spalted and I wanted to make something to highlight the spalted areas. Additionally, I like new challenges when woodturning.

Nice work. I haven’t seen a lot of these square bowls.

Very interesting and very nicely done—you don’t see many of square bowls, but they are really cool!

I did something like this but it was a crotch and about 14” in diameter, Turning those corners and hitting a lot of air the rest of the time is very challenging.

Nice work.

Looks great. Very interesting to see square turnings. May have to give it a try.
