This summer, I decided it was time to pop the question, and well, it just wouldn’t be my style to use the box from the store! I took her down to our pond to go “fishing” on July 19. I took her up on our favorite pond dam, had her close her eyes, and needless to say she said yes. She loves love birds so I tried to integrate those into the design. The box is walnut, and I used a Dremel tool to engrave the design. I made it “pop” with birch wood filler.

Best,

Trav

Nice job. On both counts ;-) What happened to the drawer pull? It is gone in the 2nd picture of the front.

Thanks! :) And the drawer has been rotated 180 degrees in the second picture. So i guess you’re technically looking at the “back” of the drawer. The pull is inside the box.

Very nice! I’m finishing up such a box. Can’t pass up an opportunity to make a special occasion even more personal.

That’s awesome! Now she will have a box to remember the special moment for the decades of marriage to come, great job and great idea!
