Way back in the distant past, far longer than I want to admit, a friend of mine stopped by with a request. Seems he had this cleaver that was a favorite of his, but the handle had split. He wondered if I could make him a new handle.
Sure, sez I, when do you need it? It was then he uttered the fateful words: “There’s no rush, when you get to it.”

Oh dear! Well as you can guess, my round tuit was a very long time coming.

But as you can see, I did indeed finally get there. The first coat of butcher block sealer is drying, second coat will go on tomorrow, then this weekend it will be ready for him to pick up.

The handle is black walnut.

Thanks for looking.

Nice handle! I was in the same direction as you, so when I asked for a knife handle I left everything and I did! The next day he was ready. Greetings.
