Well, that was a lot of work!

Fantastic-Neat-Great-- More than one boy has dreamed of tractors all night! Now that one has a reason!

If this is stricly for you the following statement is not applicable.

I know the pattern was your own! Careful if you sell some-J-D is nasty about getting a cut. I knew a man that made scrap metal toys and had painted/labeled them as J-D and I-H. J-D lawyers actually came to him in North Dakota and demanded a cut! (Licenesing fee) He just QUIT making them. A real loss as they were neat.

A way around that would be-NO DECALS-just painted-they could get thier own decals.
You can also offer other colors-- same way no decals.

I know this was posted a while ago but we are looking to make a tractor bed for our son and fell in love with these tires. Can I get directions on how you made them? or tricks to make the round part of the tire that you attached the wood blocks to as tread. Also how you did the shelf in the inside. AWESOME BED !!!

Tires are 36" rear and 24" in the front. Frame was made from 1/2" plywood disk circles, added a skeleton of 3\4" plywood spines. Than the tire face and inside was wrapped around and formed inside with 1/8" masonite (hardboard). Shelf are 1/2" ply and supported by 1\4" round glued and nailed to the spines. treads were made from 1"x2" pine glued and nailed than I ran a bead of paintable black silicon filler to fill all gaps.

Hope this helps
