Built a shadowbox to house our Sergeant Major’s Dress Blue coat, and used the Jacket to mount his personal awards and decorations. He was a Crash Fire Rescueman originally in the Marine Corps, so I made a Rescue Axe and engraved a Sergeant Major Chevron (rank) in the head of the Axe and a tiny CH-46E helicopter in the hilt of the handle.

The completed photo has the engraved placard and patch above the shoulders and a coin mounted inside the collar of the jacket.

VERY nice. Perhaps the nicest display I’ve seen. LOVE the axe.
I was stationed at MCAS Yuma and the CFR guys stayed pretty busy. Mucho respect from me.

You did a fine job on this and I can’t imagine how much that he must have appreciated it.

A very nice shadowbox for the Sergeant Major’s uniform and decorations as a constant reminder of where and who he has served with….great work.

Question for you, how did you hang this on the wall?
