Boot bench for family newlyweds. Frame is Bald Cypress from our yard. Top/lid is oak – repurposed from a free church pew. Names burned into bench arms.

Thank you Ken and Monte. It was a fun build. I’m currently finishing up a 2nd bench using the same basic plan, but using solid 3/4” bald cypress panels on the outside of the box and re-engineering the back and arms inspired by a prop at friends daughters stage play – Pipi Longstocking. Just have a couple more coats of satin spar urethane to go, and it’ll be ready to present to them at Christmas time.

Your bench looks great and sturdy. Like the design on the back and storage. I’m sure the couple likes it.

Thank you Fishinbo. I just finished a sister bench to be given to another couple we know. Pics forthcoming.
