Very nice looking box. I like the leaf detail. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice box. You’re correct on the marquetry—it really adds that extra touch of class and beauty. What wood did you use for the inlay?

I really like everything about this box. I think you’ve done a fantastic job on it… I love bubinga. The splines, contrasting wood, marquetry… bright blue felt… all an A++
Great job… very talented!

Good work! I need to buy me some exotic wood. I am a wood reclaimer (from local mill trash) and I never will see any exotic wood. Love the inlay!

The leaf is masur birch with a walnut stem. The curly maple actually came from my dovetail drawer supplier (we order doors and drawers for kitchens and baths). I would get drawers in with supperb maple and I called them complaining that they shouldn’t waste beautiful wood like that. So they send me blanks from time to time. Their lumber supplier send them several hundred feet at a time and don’t sort through it well enough. Can you believe that!

Great job Kolwdwrkr. A little marquetry makes a big difference.

Nicely put together piece. I’m envious of the marquetry. The coves lighten up the top and base very nicely.
