As I was looking over my bother-in-law’s apartment, I noticed he needed a few furniture pieces that would compliment his style. He is living in Nashville and working as a graphic designer for some clothing company and he doesn’t have much to spend on for furniture. So, for Christmas I thought I would give him a headboard and then one day make him a coffee table.

His style is reclaim. I used pallet wood and 2×4s to create this look. Mixed up my own stain and well….here you are. It’s made with mortise and tenon joinery and 1/2” dados for the vertical boards to set in from the rear to be even from the front.

Hope you like it.

Looks great, like rustic style and use of reclaimed woods. I’m sure BIL likes it. Great job! Looking forward to the coffee table.

Thanks guys! Yesterday I let my brother-in-law see his headboard for the first time – he seemed to like it.

Have your say...
