Night Stands

Here is my very first project that I made after getting my new table saw. A pair of night stands for our bedroom, very much needed.

Night stands are made out of pine. I chose pine because it was the cheapest thing I could get for a first project. This way, if I messed up it wouldn’t have costed me very much. The legs are glued together 1×2s and then cut to length. The bottom pieces is made from plywood and then edgebanded with a 1×2 with an added chamfer. The sides are a style that I am going to make our new king size bedframe with understorage. Essentially, it a “farmhouse” style. They are 1×4s with a small chamfer on both sides. I jointed them together with pocket holes on the back.

If memory serves me correct, I believe both of these stands costed me less than $50. It taught me quite a bit and was a very good first project.

Enjoy and happy woodworking!

Good looking nightstands! Like the style, very well crafted. I’m sure they will serve you well for a long time.
