Cedar Arbor

My wife wanted to buy a simple arbor for the side of our house. Naturally in puffed up indignation I forbad it and insisted I’d build one. I drew up a few variations in SketchUp, found some cedar flooring on craigslist, got her approval and here it is.

I put it up before putting a finish on it, just using some thinned Tung oil to wipe on. I haven’t built one of these before, so hope it holds up ok, but she’s happy so will count this one as a success!

I not sure which impresses me more….the arbor or your sketch-up!!! Very nice job on both.

This is really nice. You did a fine job on it.

Thanks all. Ya BusterB, I’ve been using SketchUp longer than working with wood, sadly I finish many more projects in SU than ever see real life. Oh well.

It looks good and sturdy. Great design, like the cedar and happy wife means happy life. Great job!
