Tammy, My Future Daughter in Law asked me to make some decorations for their wedding. Centerpiece Risers for the flowers in the center of tables at the reception and Table Number placks for the recption tables.

The resers are pine resawn 8/4 to about 3/8. a notch was milled in one edge of panels so as to make a hexagon. Tammy did the cutouts on a scrole saw. Assembled, they stand about 6” tall. My first experience with hide glue sure made the glue up easier! No clamping. finish was a brown stain.

The table numbers were made rom a birch log slice mortised to a small piece of carved walnut. Tammy painted the numbers. Alot of fun to make and she is very happy with them!

She is an awesome lady. We are lucky to have her in our family.

Nice work Rob. These should look great at the wedding reception. You are lucky to get a DIL with woodworking skills.

very lucky with the skills and a sweet personality. She and my wife hit it off too. She also is learning to be the office person and scheduler for my son”s HVAC contracting business. Tammy is definitely a keeper.
