There will be a benefit Saturday for a local guy that lost his wife to cancer. I’m donating these items for the silent auction. Just a few pens, bottle openers, and wine stoppers.

They look great.
Now down to business:
How much $ is represented there in spent pen and stopper hardware and exotic blanks?
What is your profit margin?;-)

Thanks Monte and Naptown. In regard to profit margin, I won’t know until the auction is over. But, this is just a hobby for me. Almost all my projects have been gifts. Therefore, gratitude and thanks are generally the profit. I was offered $50/pen recently and sold 2…..actually the only time I’ve sold anything. I’ve seen online people selling them for $40-$45. If people spend even close to this to support the cause if nothing else, there will be a profit over the group of items just from the pens. You are right there is some money in hardware and blanks. Essentially, I invested the amount of money I would have given in a cash donation. If it makes anymore then that, I figure it’s a win. 4 of the blanks were in my scrap pile from previous projects and the bloodwood or red heart (not sure) is part of a 12 inch blank cutoff that was on sale for a dollar at Woodcraft about a year ago. The antler was given to me.
