My mother had asked if I could come up with a turned cedar birdhouse that she could put on a old post in their yard. So I wanted to do a little better than a turned cedar birdhouse, and made it 3 turned cedar birdhouses. She seemed a wee bit surprised today when I took it to her, and I think she likes it. This one turned out alright.

There is going to be some happy birds in that house! We get cedar lined closets and trunks and they get a whole house. Not fair at all!!! Great job Hoss! I’m sure your mom was very surprised.

A triplex, WOW!!! I was getting ready to build a birdhouse, why not turn one. Beautifully done. Nice work.
This just went on this weeks to do list. Thanks for sharing.

Thank yall for the kind comments. Much appreciated. The only pics I have of this one is after it was finished.

@Kiefer, actually I have to make it in 4 pieces, to be able to hollow out the inside of each one. Then I apply the old standby, Gorilla Glue to put it all back together. I use to put the pegs on the front, but the birds never used them. LOL

@ Todd I will turn another one and take some pics as I go along to show how its done.

@ Dave, I look forward to seeing pics of what you come up with. Im sure it will be great.

@ Eugenie Thank you. I built that arch bridge several years ago for my folks for Christmas

That’s a super cool bird condo. Beautiful cedar, awesome design and like those grooves around it. Excellent turning piece!
