Here is another of my Oregon shaped jewelry boxes, this one for my girlfriends mom as a late birthday present. As always, I try to make each project one of a kind, so I decided to make the face of the heart completely purpleheart, as well as give this one a hidden drawer out of the back (Pic 5&6). The rest of the wood used is pine, douglas fir, poplar.

If you wanna see how I made the hidden drawer, please refer to my 5th Oregon box in the comment section http://lumberjocks.com/projects/86161

Comments and suggestions would be awesome! :)

Very nice. I grew up in Eugene. Living in CA now. Miss it.

They are going strong. Much better than the days of my youth when USC was blowing them out 52-0 and such.

Love this. I enjoy Oregon as well. Crater Lake is one of the nicer places in the whole world for my point of view. This is also a great idea as you could really do a bandsaw box with any state’s shape (Wyoming and Colorado would be pretty boring ones I guess, but still). Favorited for sure. Oh yeah Go Ducks! We have no college FB to root for in Mass to speak of.

Yes I agree! And thank you :) Doing these has definitely sparked my curiosity in how it could pan out in different states as well as different projects too! Cutting boards, picture frames, etc… Just a matter of getting around to them or finding someone that needs it :D

Wayne you are a Eugene native?! Nice! I’m a Portlandian myself (I live in Tigard now but grew up about an hour west towards the coast near McMinnville).

Love seeing the Oregon representation here on Lj’s. I’ve seen a couple of your boxes other boxes too Brian, very cool, great work!. Love that hidden drawer too, very clever!

Thank you thank you! That means a lot to me especially from a fellow Oregonian. I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback that just makes me wanna keep thinking of better ways to make a completely unique project.

Thanks to John C as well!
