I have a friend who has a bar in her basement. Her bottles are just stacked on the counter, and she wanted me to make a stepped “riser” so she could organize them and see the labels and such. We spent a couple hours at a wood store choosing the boards so they would look good. You may notice the quarter-sawn oak “pattern” on the faces of the riser match and flow from top to bottom. The maple shelves came out wonderfully.
The rounded pegs in the corner are inspired by the greene and greene style. They came out much like I envisioned.
This is my 4th woodworking project, if you don’t count a crosscut sled.
