This “basketweave” garden box was built for a friend who lives in an apartment and wanted a box deep enough to plant carrots in … happy with how it turned out.
“Roughed up” solid pine with an exterior, water-based cedar tone stain; lined with heavy duty landscape fabric; plywood bottom

how thin is the wood and did you have to soak or steam it first, or did you just muscle it into place?

JustJoe …. the basket-weave slats are off cuts from another project (that I trimmed to a consistent 1 1/2”W) but they are all just under 1/8” thick and required no soaking or steam; just a little patience and muscle. I have run a groove down the edges of the legs to secure the slats.
