Scrap Wood Bowls

These were fun. These were just left over scraps from my dirtbike stand project. I didn’t want to get rid of them and so I decided to make some bowls.

The lighter wood is red oak and I do not know what the darker wood is. They are both finished with walnut oil.

The first bowl was a bit of an experiment doing a ring on the edge. I think it turned out to look a bit like a planet with rings and its top chopped off.

The second bowl almost didn’t happen. I turned the tenon too small to fit back in my chuck. I added a bunch of tape around the diameter and clamped back down. A little sketchy but it did work. I think I got lucky by finding that knot in the middle. It gave the bowl some character.

Thanks for looking.

That flying saucer looking bowl is wicked. Nice work from scraps.
