I had some requests for my arcade cabinet, so here it is. MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. You can learn more about MAME here:
I thought about detailing the construction here, but I have way too many pictures so I created a blog here:
http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/gwurst/blog/5472
I built this back in 2003 with the design based-on this cabinet:
Most of the controls can be had here:
Keyboard and mouse interfaces were bought here:
http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html
The PC was one I had lying-around. The monitor is a Gateway 32” VGA monitor I bought from work as surplus.
Thanks for looking!
EDIT I was bored and had some pseudo-requests so I’ve created a Sketchup drawing and material list for the cabinet. It does NOT include the control panel since it will vary depending on what controls you want. I also did not include the 2×4 bracing and MDF braces for the panels on the material list, but they are in the Sketchup drawing so you can get the dimensions from there. You will also have to determine how you want to mount your display since it’s unlikely you’ll have the same monitor I did.
You can get the files as well as a couple marquee images and a JPG of a control board here:

I have several thousand games up to the late 90’s. If your PC is fast enough it can run many of the later games.

Nice job!
Wow 32” monitor would be quite the gaming experience and the controls are impressive.
I am planning on building a ‘table top’ mame cabinet in the next year or so looking forward to seeing your blog when it is posted.

This is awesome. My dream really. My childhood friend had actual Space Invaders. These games are meant to be played on consoles.
Do yo have to boot the p.c. through windows and then load your game, or is it set up to just choose them.
I enjoyed the blog how to also.

I use a DOS frontend, so once the BIOS boots it’s ready to go in about 5 seconds.

I’ve added a link to Sketchup files and other useful files in the project text.
