I made this plaque for my turkey fan mount. Made it out of some spare oak that my dad cut down and used for trim in my house 18 years ago. In case you couldn’t tell the plaque is supposed to look like a mouth call. I cut the main 3/4” piece with the bandsaw. Then cut the 1/4” “U” shape with the bandsaw and used the beltsander to shape them. Glued them together and finish sanded. I used a wood burner to get the “V” design then I taped off the middle part to stain the outer section. This was the best/easiest way I could think to get the shape and colors I wanted. Feel free to share any other ideas or advice for next time I do this. Thanks
Shot this 9 1/2” long beard with 1” spurs in the 2013 spring gobbler season.
-- What? I didn't "break" it, I was just testing its durability, and then I "placed" it in the woods because it's made of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
