After seeing Spud72 post his Trug earlier, I knew I had to build one for my wife and garden bounty. Had a lot of scrap wood, so off to the planer and saw. Real easy to make, no frills on this one, just basic. Now I am making 6 more for her friends for their next luncheon in a few weeks.

Would it be difficult to give the dimensions??

The dimensions are very simple. On my small projects I try to keep things simple, in 12” or 24” increments. The length is 24” and it is 12” wide. The handle pieces are the same as the bottom slats to keep it simple. The dowels are also 12”. The spacing between the bottom slats is one slat wide. My daughter helped me hold a piece of flexible metal rod for the arch of the side boards, then just traced that original board for the other boards I made.

Thanks for the look.

Pretty and handy, great for picking fruits, herbs, fruits and flowers in the garden. Well done!

Nice work! I showed it to my wife and now I’m making one!
