A box for my brother

He helped me put my roof on….actually I helped him put my roof on, so I made him this box in appreciation. He and I are into gold prospecting so this box is designed to hold vials of gold. It measures 3”H 4 1/4D 6 3/8L.

.........The top panel is Pregola Rosa, sides are Jatoba, inlay on top is purpleheart and thin strip of bloodwood. Compartments are purpleheart and ash. Bottom is Wenge..which I laminated for stability.

.....I made several mistakes which created a lot more work than should have been but, it was a learning experience..

That would be Peroba Rosa not Pergola. Gotta get the vertical thing straightened out.

Beautiful and well crafted box! Great wood combo, the purple heart really stand out. I’m sure your brother likes it.
