This is Spalted Walnut with a Maple finial and cup.

I know Walnut doesn’t spalt… or the hearwood usually does not. but this has some sap in it and it was spalting.

Ronald, thanks… I used a Coke bottle cap to put inside the holder to elevate for the picture.

One very nice pic holder, how do you lock it when pulled up? is it simply tilted a bit to sort of jam?
