inspired by Steve Ramsay

I guess I should have added some details.,

I used cherry and walnut to create the base stock, maple and walnut on the other. Each unit is laminated from 5 thin strips of glued up stock. The thin strips were cut on the table saw using Rocklers thin strip jig, works like a dream.

I created a form to set up the laminating process.

Prior to gluing up the 5 strips, reduced the width of one strip 1/2” to allow for a groove on the center of the laminate. Added glue to each strip and placed in the form and CLAMPED. Many many many clamps. Used the 1/2” off cut as a spacer (coat in packing type, so glue will not adhere)

Left overnight, than shaped and sanded. Finished with Watco spray lacquer.

Very cool. I also enjoy checking out Steve Ramsay’s projects and am planning on making the bent lamination quilt rack that he posted. Keep up the great work.
