I built a new jig to cut splines in my boxes. So I played around with different patterns. All of a sudden this box started to look like something retro so I let it take the shape and look it wanted. Curley maple and cherry were used with splines to match.

Looks cool! Kind of has some Art Deco personality.

I like the Cherry splines in the Maple. Nice contrast : )

Cool box! Looks very well crafted, like the clean lines and the wood combo. Great job!

Richard, the splines are well done. This simple variation gives the box a great look. Thanks for sharing this idea with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.

Thanks Boxguy, I have used your work to for inspiration from time to time. I will post some pictures of the jig for you Aussiedave, but it is really a takeoff of something I saw Blackie make. Mine is a little different because my scraps were different.

I love it when the wood tell us what to do. Just buckle up, sit back and enjoy the ride!!
