I built this bench as a commissioned piece for a neighbor. I despise cherry but he has a few MBF stacked up. Sitting width of approximately six feet, mortise and tennon joinery-re enforced with screws where applicable. This was the first larger project that I have used an HVLP gun to finish and I will be investing in better equipment soon. I used Minwax WATER based spar urethane and I will never buy the oil variant again.

Great looking bench…. Love the flow on this. The round-overs make it look so inviting…. A real beauty!

Cherry is heavy and strong wood. It will stand for years. It’s very nice. Well done.

Nicely executed. I’m puzzled as to why you “despise cherry” as you’ve created quite a beautiful bench.

You did a great job on this. It looks like a comfortable place to sit.

Nice bench! I personally love cherry. Why the dislike for it if I may ask

Your beautiful bench looks comfy and sturdy. Like the cherry and finish. It will even look better with age. Well done!
