Buckeye Burl Euro Style Pencil

Project by ShannonRogers posted 466 days ago 347 views 0 times favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This was my first experience with Buckeye Burl. This is the easiest burl I have ever worked with. I didn’t have any chip out problems and the finished product is outstanding. My typical finish, sanded to 12,000 grit, EEE cream, danish oil, then shellawax and buffed to a high shine.

I love this wood. This pen reminds me of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”

A great looking pen, it looks like it could be made of Granite.

I’m with Dick, it looks almost like stone. Very nice. I did one earlier that resembles horn. A very interesting wood. You captured it well.

Beautiful pen Shannon. Buckeye burl is one of my favorite choices for pens. You did it justice. If Van Gogh would have had this pen, it could very well have been “Starry Write.” Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful wood and work is great, it reminds me of the granite I used for my table I just posted this evening. This is the natural color? Wow, I want some to work with, does it come in large pieces?
