Christian Becksvoort made a drawer box like this out of solid dovetailed all together cherry. My skills aren’t what his are so I used 1/2” birch plywood for my drawer carcass. The sides and the back on secured in rabbets and I covered all the exposed plywood edges with some cherry (sides/back) and padauk (on the top) strips. The drawer is a dovetailed box with a piece of 1/8” cherry applied to the front. Maybe after another year of practice I can do this again like Christian’s box drawer.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with yours. It looks very nice.

-- Bill M. I love my job as a firefighter, but nothing gives me the satisfaction of running my hand over a project that I have built and just finished sanding.

I agree but the one Christian did not only looks nicer, it has a lock too.

Nice drawer box, looks great. Regardless of what Christian’s box looked like you did an excellent job.

Your box looks good and well crafted. Great joints and like the drawer. Well done!

Thanx I learned a few things making this. I’ll make another but in all solid wood.
