I carved this from a piece of live oak firewood using an angle grinder It’s about 17” long and 5” wide, sanded to 320 grit and finished with several applications of Watco danish oil. I intended it to be a large incense holder but when shown to my coworkers, they thought it would be great for appetizers. So I will make a few more finished with a food safe finish.

Just wanted to comment that I recently discovered that an angle grinder produces a very interest finish on wood. This project confirms what I recently found out. Good job!

Like it. It makes a great centerpiece as well. Has a very nice shape and the wood is beautiful. Great job!
